The 16th crossover.
A black mage had been transformed into a Gallade due to a black magic spell gone wrong.
The Black Mage is the offensive magic caster of the Light Warriors. While the Black Mage has weak combat skills and the lowest HP out of any character class, he is capable of inflicting negative status effects and causing great damage to the enemy with his Black Magic.
After completing the Citadel of Trials, Bahamut the Dragon King upgrades him to the rank of Black Wizard. This enables him to cast higher level spells and equip better weapons and armor. While the NES version of the Black Wizard depicts him with his hood down, all versions after the WonderSwan Color port change his outfit but retain the hat, obscuring his face.
Although his physical properties are low, his magical abilities are great.

Gallade is my fav PKMN, and I'm a big FF fan. Personally, I'd consider a spell turning me into a Gallade more of a rare, requires-FFIV-DS-Twincast buff spell rather than a status ailment.
